Ceylon or zeylanicum (Cinnamomum verum) has gained attraction in recent years for its potential health benefits, including the maintenance of healthy blood sugar levels. Cinnamon helps maintain normal blood lipid levels and stomach comfort. It is also an excellent alternative to feverfew and helps to maintain comfort in the body and head.
Viridian Organic Cinnamon is certified Organic by the Soil Association and formulated with a high potency extract, equivalent to 4800mg of whole bark and providing 60mg of proanthocyanidins.
Often referred to as “true cinnamon”, the name “Ceylon” comes from its origin; Sri Lanka, historically known as Ceylon. This has more therapeutic and studied benefits than cassia bark which is the cinnamon often used in cooking. “True cinnamon” was grown in Sri Lanka and around the 17th century sailors crossing the Indian Ocean cultivated the plant in Madagascar. This is one of the few other places in the world to successfully grow true cinnamon outside of Sri Lanka.
Overall, true cinnamon not only enriches culinary creations but also offers a range of potential health benefits, making it a valuable addition to both the kitchen and wellness routines.
