Selenium is an essential trace mineral which supports the immune system and protects cells from oxidative stress caused by free radicals. This ‘oxidative stress’ appears to be a major factor in many human diseases and can contribute to cell damage and premature aging. Selenium also contributes to normal spermatogenesis and the development of sperm cells.
Ensuring adequate levels of selenium in your diet or supplement routine will help to keep hair and nails healthy, and support normal functioning of the thyroid. Selenium can naturally be found in eggs, poultry, fish, and Brazil nuts. It is worth noting, however, that intensive farming has led to greatly reduced levels of this important mineral in our foods, therefore supplementation can be helpful to increase nutritional intake. Viridian’s selenium delivers 200μg in every capsule in the preferred selenomethione form.
Contains 100% active ingredients, formulated by expert nutritionists with no artificial fillers and no nasties. Sourced according to Viridian’s strict ethical criteria including no animal testing, GMO or palm oil.
Just to make you aware we are currently updating our packaging so your supplement may look a little different. Please don’t worry, it’s the same goodness inside.
